I hope y'all had a nice holiday -- whatever one you choose to celebrate.  I
had some welcome time off then started the year off with a wonderful concert
in Silver City, NM on January 10.  I had a great time.  Heck, I'd like to live
there and the women I stayed with generously offered to build a wing on to
their house for me.  Uh, at least I think that's what they agreed to do.

On My Honor

I'm in a great new book called "On My Honor: Lesbians Reflect on Their
Scouting Experience," edited by Nancy Manahan and on Madwoman Press.  There
are wonderful stories from 33 ex and present girl scouts.  Some of you may
remember Nancy as one of the co-editors of "Lesbian Nuns, Breaking Silence."
She did a lot of talk shows for that book and she's promised me that if the
Oprah show calls her this time, that she's taking me.  I'm considering what to
wear.  Hmmm, the black sparkly fishnets or the black lace tights?  The pink
cowboy boots or the gold sparkle DM boots?  And which dress?!  So hard to
decide.  Anyway, if you'd like to buy the book, it's in in the stores now --
you'll find it almost anywhere that carries lesbian books.  Or, you can order
it directly from Madwoman Press: 76620.460@compuserve.com.  I'll also be
selling them at my concerts.

As you can see, there are a few gaps in my touring.  If you can offer any
contacts, let me know.  I can play in a variety of venues.  I can even do a
fundraising concert for your favorite group.  I'd love to come to your
hometown!  You might want to consider producing a concert yourself.  I've
worked with a lot of first-time producers.  Also, if I'm already going to be
in the region, I occasionally do house concerts.  Ask me if it's a
possibility.

River City Folk

Besides touring, you can hear me perform live on the syndicated radio show
"River City Folk."  It's an hour program that features me playing several
songs, an interview and some songs from my musicial influences (Meg Christian,
Joan Armatrading, Steve Goodman and Carole King).  The show was a lot of fun
to tape and I think you'll enjoy it.  I might be the first out lesbian they've
featured and I don't think I've ever gotten airplay in Chester, MT or Provo,
UT.  Won't they *love* me there?  They can't tell me exactly when the show
will air on each station except that it'll appear on 1/23/98 or soon after.
