You are on this list because you signed my mailing list at a concert or wrote to me and asked to be added. If you'd like to be deleted or if your address will change soon, please let us know at tsunamiinc@aol.com. Be kind and keep in mind that a real, feeling person answers your email. Please don't forward jokes, news items, virus warnings or petitions. I love personal notes from fans, though, and try to answer every email. Feel free to forward this newsletter to your friends, especially if I'm going to be performing in their area. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Table of Contents ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 1. General stuff 2. Tour, Tour, Tour 9. The Ending Quote ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 1. General stuff ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I just got back from Oregon yesterday and I haven't even unpacked. Pardon me if any of this newsletter sounds like I've got mashed potatoes for brains. Just add gravy and call it a meal. In the last few weeks, I had fun gigs in Chapel Hill with Tret Fure and at CampOut in Virginia. Even though it rained cats and dogs at the latter gig, I enjoyed doing it. One of the things I like about doing festivals is that I get to hear other performers. I especially liked CommbonD (www.commonbondmusic.com), Debra Guy (www.debraguy.com) and Zoe Lewis and her Rubber Band (zoelewis@.yahoo.com). Unfortunately, I had to leave early so I didn't catch all the performers. For more about CampOut: www.campoutva.com. And why did I have to leave early?! Kittens! My house is overflowing with tiny mewing entities. Emily, the stray I found at a rest area in Missouri, had six babies a couple of weeks ago. They're in the next room as I type this. Every once in a while I hear MEW from the other room. Almost makes me sad that I'm a responsible pet owner and always get my critters fixed before their first litter 'cause I sure like having kittens around the house. (Emily was pregnant when I found her.) Please, folks, get your animals fixed. Thousands of animals are put to death every month because there aren't enough homes for all. And when you get your next pet, think about visiting the local animal shelter and getting an older cat or dog. I've gotten some wonderful animals this way. I just returned from Oregon where I did two fabulous gigs with Jubilate! Damn, I can't remember when I had such fun, especially when the light guy in Gleneden gave me a red spotlight and disco ball lights for "Menstrual Tango." I started laughing so hard I had to stop the song. Jubilate was wonderful but they've completely spoiled me. Now I don't want to do any of those songs by myself any more. The tour bus is rented ladies, and it leaves soon. For more info about Jubilate: jubilatechoir@home.com. They perform in Corvallis and elsewhere in the state. June finds me in a couple of great places including a tropical isle with 600 women (hey, SOMEone has to do it!) and at the National Women's Music Festival in Indiana. At the end of the month, I'll be in a bellydance show in Durham - thought you local folks might like to go. More details on everything at the end of the newsletter. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 2. Ladyslipper Radio ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Have you dreamed of a women's radio station? Well folks, here it is: www.ladyslipper.org, click on the internet radio button. They've had the good taste to include my song "Dark Chocolate." And while you're at the Ladyslipper site, check out the cool recordings they sell. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 3. House Concerts ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A few of you have asked if I do house concerts and the answer is yes! If you have a room that fits 20 or more and an address book of friends who'd attend, we can set something up. What's a house concert you might ask? Just what it sounds like. We agree on a date, you contact your friends, then I show up to do a concert. It's like giving a party only there's live music. I usually book house concerts a little later than my other gigs and the show needs to be on the way to or from other concert dates. Look at my tour schedule and see if I'm going to be anywhere near you. Even if I'm not, I could keep your name and address and contact when I will be in the area. For a good overview of house concerts, see www.darrylpurpose.com/etc/house.htm ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 4. And you thought I just played the guitar É ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Check out the baton twirler on the front page of www.ncpride.org. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 5. Beach House B&B ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I stayed in a fabulous B&B in Newport, OR. It's got friendly innkeepers, great food, beautiful comfortable rooms and it's only one block from the beach. They have two rooms, one with a gorgeous view of the ocean. The bottom floor room accepts pets! www.beachhousebb.com. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 6.
